Florida-based coffee chain The Blend Coffee & Cocktails filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Tuesday. The chain listed its liabilities as between $500,001 and $1 million, with between zero and $50,000 in assets, according to court documents filed in the Florida Middle Bankruptcy court. Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows businesses to remain open during the period of bankruptcy filing while a plan of reorganization is proposed. The Blend Coffee & Cocktails offers a mix of unique coffee creations and alcoholic beverages. “From creative coffee flights to refreshing mimosa, fuzion and bloody mary flights, we make it easy to try a little bit of everything,” its website reads. “Whether you’re in the mood for something bold, sweet, bubbly or boozy, we’ve got a flight for that. The coffee chain currently operates eight locations across Florida. The brand’s founder, Stach Madsen, created the company in 2006 and opened the first location in Florida in 2019 after relocating from Seattle, Washington, according to Tampa Bay Business Journal.
