Pop star who 'already has upper hand' eyes up Celebrity Traitors series two

A pop star has thrown his name into the mix to appear on The Celebrity Traitors season two. The A-list edition has taken the nation by storm in recent weeks, as national treasures including Alan Carr , Cat Burns, Jonathan Ross , Kate Garraway, Joe Marler , Tom Daley and Stephen Fry are taking part. So far, we’ve seen some truly iconic moments, from Alan murdering Paloma Faith leaving her in a coffin, Tom’s side-eye to Kate , and Celia Imrie farting during a challenge. A handful of players remain in the game with just three episodes left, and none of the Traitors have been exposed so far, with betrayal and treachery reaching an all-time high around the brutal roundtable. But before this season comes to an end, a Strictly Come Dancing star has teased “never say never” to appearing on next year’s competition, revealing that he already has an upper hand after playing it during his time in the ballroom competition. JB Gill, who made it to the final of Strictly last year with Lauren Oakley, admitted he wouldn’t mind appearing on Claudia Winkleman’s murder mystery game show. He told Radio Times : “It's been brilliant, it's so, so good. I watched the first couple of episodes and it's very electrifying." He continued: "We played sort of a Traitors-style game backstage as Strictly when we were doing the tour, so that was quite fun. I was a novice, I didn't really know anything about the show or how it was really played, so that was a good introduction. "I think it's a brilliant show and as I say, I'm looking forward to seeing how it will unfold." This comes after the likes of Miriam Margolyes, Karren Brady and Richard Osman ruled themselves out of appearing on future seasons, despite being approached by BBC bosses. Richard claimed he would only do the show if he was guaranteed to be a Traitor, while Good Morning Britain star Martin Lewis claimed he had “fomo” after rejecting the opportunity. He wrote on social media: “I'm no Traitor (sadly). I've got FOMO looking at the Celebrity Traitors line up. I was asked if I wanted to do it, but said no as I couldn't commit the time. I hadn't watched it then (but watched the last series after that & loved it) so now feel a little gutted - though I still don't have the time. Sigh!” Rumours have been swirling over who could appear in the next series, after producers previously revealed they’d want Rylan Clark, Kathy Burke and Russell T Davies to take part. Executive producer Sarah Fay also told Metro: “If Bob Mortimer wanted to do it next year, we would absolutely love it.” She added: “Other people were speculated too, Courteney Cox was in the papers for a long time as well.” “It’s not just a case of we want them to do it, there’s other things involved,” she said. “A lot of people wanted to do it but they have other commitments,” added fellow executive producer Mike Cotton. The Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer
