Pop artist treated for ‘minor medical emergency’ between Boston shows

Halsey had to be admitted to the hospital in between the singer’s shows in Boston this week. Halsey, 31, said she was treated for a “minor medical emergency” following her show at MGM Music Hall Fenway on Sunday night, Nov. 1. “Boston I’m gonna be honest with ya, after the show last night I was in the ER till 6 this morning. Minor medical emergency but I am A-Okay now and ready to rock tonight! But if I’m pacing myself, that’s why!,” the singer wrote on her Instagram story Monday. Halsey went on to praise her medical care team for their efforts. “Huge shout out to Mass General and Dr. Kian, Dr. Victoria and my nurses Carolyn and Alicia for being the absolute best team I’ve ever met,” she wrote. “And I second that with regard to the imaging staff, transport team, and patient relations!!! I am so so grateful! LETS ROCK TONIGHT!” Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Frangipane, has historically been open about her health. Last year, the “Without Me” singer revealed she was diagnosed with Lupus SLE and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder in 2022. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that causes the body’s immune system to attack healthy tissue, according to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. Meanwhile lymphoproliferative disorders cause monoclonal lymphocytosis, lymphadenopathy and bone marrow infiltration, the National Library of Medicine states. While both conditions are being managed or are in remission, Halsey said she will likely have both for the rest of their life. “After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors,” the singer wrote in an Instagram post on June 5, 2024. “After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to.” Halsey was in Boston for two nights (Nov. 1-2) as part of the singer’s “Back to Badlands Tour.” The trek is in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Halsey’s debut album, “Badlands.” The triple platinum-certified project peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and established Halsey as one of music’s biggest rising stars. “Badlands” — containing the hit singles “New Americana,” “Castle” and “Colors” — is one of one of the only albums in music history to have every song certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum by the RIAA. Halsey also toured earlier this year as part of her “My Last Trick” tour. The tour was in support of her most recent and fifth studio album, “The Great Impersonator,” which dropped in 2024.
