Police ‘on scene’ of A9 crash south of Dalwhinnie

Motorists on the A9 are being advised to use caution on approach following a crash south of Dalwhinnie which partially blocked the road.

Traffic Scotland first alerted drivers to the obstacle in an update on its socials at 12.40pm, in which it said that “police and other emergency services are en-route”.

Although the road has remained open, delays of around 20 minutes are being experienced by drivers heading southbound. Those heading north are experiencing “minimal” delays”, according to the motoring body.

In its latest update at 2.40pm, Traffic Scotland added: “The A9 remains partially blocked in both directions following a collision. Police are in attendance… traffic is still slow in the area.”

It is not known if there were any injuries in the crash.

Police have been approached for information.
