The Station House Officer (SHO) of Mehran Police Station, Mir Khadim Talpur, has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman from Punjab, identified as Ms. Aaliya Begum. A case No. 29/25 has been registered at the Women Police Station under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code, on the complaint of the victim, the local correspondent of APP reported this from Mirpurkhas. According to sources, after the incident, the accused former SHO Khadim Talpur managed to escape. Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar and Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah have taken notice of the incident and instructed the SSP Mirpurkhas to ensure a thorough investigation and justice for the victim. The ministers have also directed that a detailed report of the incident be submitted and that the victim be provided full protection. The SSP Mirpurkhas has been instructed to ascertain all facts related to the case and submit a comprehensive investigation report.
