Police at the Holetown Station are investigating an early morning shooting in Weston, St. James, which left one man dead and another hospitalised. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Preliminary investigations indicate that a group of people were socialising in the area of a business establishment when one of them entered his vehicle to leave. He was then confronted by three armed, masked assailants who discharged their firearms. The man, who is a licensed firearm holder, drew his weapon and returned fire, injuring two of the assailants. One of them succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A medical doctor subsequently visited the scene and pronounced death. The other injured assailant was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Investigations are continuing into the matter. Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the Holetown Police Station at 419-1700.
