Police have evacuated one of central London’s busiest railway station causing travel chaos.
Footage and images taken at Euston show thousands of commuters outside as train services were suspended.
Officers were called to reports of a suspicious item at around 2.45pm on Thursday.
A cordon was put in place and the station evacuated as a precaution, British Transport Police said.
A spokesman added: “The item has since been assessed as non-suspicious and the incident stood down.”
Referring to the Manchester synagogue terror attack, LBC Radio presenter Lewis Goodall said on X: “Train staff tell me evacuation due to a suspicious package police are investigating.
“If so, not unusual on a day when everyone is very much on alert.”
Sports reporter Gianni Butticè added: “Just been told to evacuate Euston station. No idea what’s happening.”
Transport for London announced the station was closed “due to a security alert”.
Avanti West Coast have since confirmed that all lines have re-opened.
Transport for London also confirmed that Euston station has re-opened.
