Police called after local under-18s football match descends into brawl

Police were called after a local football match erupted into an all-in brawl as the final siren rang in Melbourne’s south-west.

The under-18s match between Newport and Sunshine yesterday descended into chaos at Chirnside Park in Werribee, with footage showing punches being thrown by spectators and players.

Newport had just won by 13 points when the violence began.
