Law enforcement has asked the public for help in locating a person who may have gone missing in West Brookfield while swimming in a lake.
The search for the possible missing swimmer began on Wednesday, according to the West Brookfield Police Department.
A person had been struggling in the waters of Lake Wickaboag, the department said, and has not been seen since.
Law enforcement searched the lake throughout the day Wednesday until nightfall, and began again Thursday morning with local and state officials utilizing sonar technology and divers.
Police asked the public to review their home surveillance footage from between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday for any sign of the possible missing swimmer.
Anyone who witnessed the swimmer is also asked to contact the department at 508-867-1170.
The public is asked to stay away from the area of Lake Wickaboag as law enforcement conducts its search.
