… recover stolen motorcycle The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers in possession of two locally made guns and a stolen motorcycle, following a swift response to a distress call in Azare town, the headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area in Bauchi State. The disclosure was made by the Command PPRO, CSP Mohammed Ahmed Wakil, in a statement he made available to Journalists on Sunday. He said, “On the 25th of October, 2025, at about 0500hrs, a distress call was received from one Adamu Abdullahi of Gandum Wambai area, Azare, reporting that some suspected thieves, armed with locally made guns, invaded his business premises, GKY Food and Oil Mills, Azare, and carted away a motorcycle.” Upon receipt of the report, Police operatives from Azare Division, in collaboration with local vigilantes, immediately swung into action and pursued the fleeing suspects to Lafiya village along the Lafiya–Gwasame road. The suspects were identified as Hassan Babangida, a 25-year-old and Abdullahi Hussaini, a 27-year-old, both from Hanafari village in Jama’are Local Government Area of Bauchi State. At the point of arrest, the following exhibits were recovered from the suspects: Two locally made guns and one Bajaj motorcycle (the stolen motorcycle) The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the prompt response of the operatives and the support of the local vigilante group, which led to the successful operation. He reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to combating and mitigating criminal activities while ensuring the safety of lives and property across the State. Investigation is ongoing to uncover more details about the suspects’ criminal network. The Command also urged the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information to the police, enabling a prompt response to security challenges.
