The 4th Annual Safe Trick or Treat, hosted at Poinciana High School, takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the school’s courtyard and is geared for children ages 12 and under. There will be decorated candy stations, games and a few surprises along the way. Guests should park in the teacher parking area. Join in at the fun Spooky Spectacular: Twisted Tails at the Poinciana Library on Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 4:30-6 p.m. Explore a world of mischief and fairy tale fun with the whole family. Enjoy haunting experiments, crafts and sweet treats. Come dressed in your most creative costume and join the all-ages costume contest. They’re not just for Halloween—give your pumpkins a purpose! Give your pumpkins a second life — Osceola County’s office of Sustainability invites you to take part in Pumpkins with a Purpose, a seasonal recyclable program that turs pumpkins and fall gords into composts. All pumpkins and gords may be donated at the Library from Oct. 29 to Nov. 10 that are free of paint, glitter or other decorations. In Poinciana, the drop-off location is the Poinciana Library, 101 N. Doverplum Ave. Poinciana Health Fair, a Senior Wellness event, will be held on Friday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anthony DePalma Center (395 Marigold Ave.). Free screenings and information, a hearing test, healthy lifestyle and nutrition information will be features. Medicare beneficiaries are invited to attend a Free Fall Health Fair on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. hosted by Valora Medical Group, (4551 Pleasant Hill Road). There will be a food pantry distribution at Access Community Center Poinciana, 4543 Pleasant Hill Road on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. One bag of fruits and vegetables will be distributed. The next National Prescription Take Back Day is Saturday, Oct. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a safe way of disposing of unused, expired medication. In Poinciana the drop off location is HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital, 325 Cypress Pkwy. Mark your calendars! The Solivita Fall Festival 2025 is set for Saturday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 395 Village Dr. This event is free to enter and park. There will be a free kid’s zone featuring face painting, arts and crafts, chalk board, DJ, popcorn and balloons. There will be over 130 artisans and craft vendors.
