PM Modi Odisha Visit on Sept 27: Seva Parva Inaugurations, IIT Expansions & Rail Projects in Brahmapur

The visit, aimed at launching several key development initiatives, was the focus of a high-level preparation meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan today.
During the meeting, attended by senior ministers, advisors, and top bureaucrats, the Chief Minister issued detailed directives to ensure the event’s seamless execution. Emphasizing the need for meticulous coordination across departments, Majhi instructed officials to prioritize security arrangements, public participation, and infrastructural readiness. “We must make this ‘Seva Parva’ program in Odisha truly memorable,” the Chief Minister stated, underscoring the importance of synchronized efforts in areas like health, police, water supply, electricity, and local administration.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to arrive in Brahmapur at 11 AM on the day of the event. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple beneficiary-oriented schemes, marking a significant boost to Odisha’s development landscape. Key highlights include:
– Capacity expansion of eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) across the country.
– Doubling of the Koraput-Baiguda and Manbazar-Koraput-Gorapur railway lines.
– Inauguration of the Sambalpur-Sarla flyover.
– Nationwide rollout of indigenous 4G network services by BSNL.
– Declaration of MKCG Medical College in Brahmapur and VIMSAR in Burla as world-class super-specialty institutions.
– Launch of a pan-India skill development program.
– Assistance to 50,000 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
– Several other developmental projects tailored for public welfare.
The meeting highlighted comprehensive planning for the PM’s itinerary, including arrival and departure protocols, deployment of security forces, venue preparations, and inter-departmental synergy. Discussions also covered the PM’s travel route and measures to engage the public effectively.
Prominent attendees included Steel and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik, Minister for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education Sampad Chandra Swain, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakasan Mishra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Satyabrata Sahoo, DGP Y.B. Khurania, Additional Chief Secretary (Information and Public Relations) Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary to CM Shashwat Mishra, and Principal Secretary (Revenue) Sanjay Kumar Singh.
This visit underscores the central government’s commitment to Odisha’s growth, aligning with broader national initiatives under the ‘Seva Parva’ framework, which celebrates service and sustainable development.
