Chief Prabhari Officer (CPO) of aspirational district Kadapa, Siddharth Jain, visited Chinta Komma Dinne Mandal Praja Parishat High School in Kadapa and expressed delight at the cleanly maintained model ‘Smart Kitchen’, on Tuesday. The centralised kitchen, established with ₹56 lakh, is being used to feed 1,758 students of 33 schools in the vicinity, under the State government’s flagship Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal Scheme. At present, the scheme provides food to 10,332 students in 136 schools through five such smart kitchens established in C.K. Dinne, Kadapa and Jammalamadugu. “By the end of December, we plan to open 33 smart kitchens in 11 mandals of Kadapa district to provide delicious and nutritional meals to 1,24,689 children every day,” said District Collector Sridhar Cherukuri. Meanwhile, Mr. Jain also inspected the quality of groceries, storehouse facility and the vehicles used to transport the cooked food to the schools. He also checked the drinking water provided through the Reverse Osmosis (RO) process and the clean energy generated by the solar cooking system. The Central government’s efforts are reaching the grassroots, especially at the countryside, with the efforts of the field staff, he said. Nodal Officer Joel Vijay Kumar, Regional Joint Director (Education) Samuel, District Education Officer Shamsuddin, Project Director (Housing) Raja Ratnam and the Engineering officials took part. Startup Kadapa Hub The officials later inspected the progress of the ongoing works of the ‘Startup Kadapa Hub’ centre under the P4 model at Government Arts College campus. Mr. Jain urged the youth to stop chasing jobs and emerge as job providers by establishing startups. The G+3 facility is coming up in an area of 25,000 sq.ft. with an estimated outlay of ₹10 crore, with the support of locals as well as those settled outside.
