Pizza Hut's UK restaurants have been plunged into administration, putting 68 of their locations at risk of closure. FTI Consulting was put in as administrator of the restaurant chain on Monday, The Sun reports . However, the organisation's global owner, Yum! Brands, struck a deal almost immediately as part of a pre-pack administration, which could save 64 of the locations. Yet, 741 jobs are still at risk, as 68 restaurants were not part of the rescue deal. A spokesperson for the pizza chain told The Sun : “Today we announce the acquisition of the Pizza Hut dine-in operations through a pre-packaged administration, after FTI was announced today as administrators of DC London Pie Limited, a franchisee of Pizza Hut dine-in restaurants. “We are pleased to secure the continuation of 64 sites to safeguard our guest experience and protect the associated jobs. “Approximately 2,259 team members will transfer to the new Yum! equity business, including above-restaurant leaders and support teams.” The brand's takeaway branches will not be impacted by the closures.
