Two northern Lincolnshire Pizza Hut restaurants are among 68 that the chain has listed as closing. It follows the collapse of the company behind its UK venues falling into administration. DC London Pie, the firm managing Pizza Hut's UK dine-in establishments, brought in administrators from corporate finance specialists FTI on Monday. The chain's restaurants in Victoria Street West, in Grimsby , and Gallagher Retail Park, in Scunthorpe , are listed among those shutting. The chain will also shutter 11 delivery sites around the country as part of a restructuring that, overall, places 1,210 employees at risk of losing their jobs. The development comes less than 12 months after the business had purchased the chain's restaurants from insolvency proceedings. On Monday, American hospitality giant Yum! Brands, which owns the global Pizza Hut operation, announced it has acquired the UK restaurant business through a pre-pack administration agreement. The rescue package will preserve 64 locations and safeguard employment for 1,277 staff members. Nicolas Burquier, managing director of Pizza Hut Europe and Canada, said: "This targeted acquisition aims to safeguard our guest experience and protect jobs where possible. "Our immediate priority is operational continuity at the acquired locations and supporting colleagues through the transition." The administration comes approximately six weeks after HMRC lodged a winding up petition against DC London Pie. DC London Pie was the entity established when Directional Capital, which ran franchises in Sweden and Denmark, acquired 139 UK restaurants from the former UK franchisee Heart with Smart Limited in January of this year.
