The pilot health project in Kuppam has led to significant improvements in medical services, paving the way for its replication across the State, said Zoya Ali Rizvi, Deputy Commissioner, Nutrition and Allied Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Ms. Rizvi reviewed the National Health Mission (NHM) initiatives with District Collector Sumit Kumar during a PowerPoint presentation here on Friday. Senior officials from the Medical and Health Department were also present. The review covered Ayushman Bharat centres, immunisation drives, maternal nutrition programmes, school health interventions, tuberculosis and leprosy care, and deworming campaigns. Ms. Rizvi expressed satisfaction that healthcare services were effectively reaching rural communities and suggested holding orientation programmes to further strengthen field-level delivery. Mr. Sumit Kumar underlined the administration’s focus on extending welfare schemes to underprivileged populations and said cluster-level training sessions were being planned for health teams to ensure better implementation.
