PG Electroplast Limited, a leading electronics manufacturing services provider, chose Sri City in Tirupati district for setting up its first manufacturing facility in south India, for which it acquired 50 acres. It will be investing approximately ₹1,000 crore over five years, starting with a refrigerator manufacturing plant with 1.20 million units annual capacity. The target is to begin commercial production by December 2026 with a plan to diversify into manufacturing air conditioners, washing machines and other appliances and electronics later, according to an official release. The project is expected to create over 500 direct jobs in the first phase and catalyze wider opportunities across components, logistics, and allied services in Sri City. Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh on Saturday welcomed the investment and thanked PG Electroplast for placing its trust in A.P. The release said PG Electroplast’s decision underscores the effectiveness of AP’s transparent single-window clearances, competitive policy incentives, and high-quality industrial infrastructure that reduce time, cost, and complexity for manufacturers scaling in India.
