Peter Crouch delivers perfect response to Erling Haaland robot celebration

Peter Crouch claimed "I walked so they could run" after seeing Erling Haaland replicate his iconic robot celebration. The former England frontman first pulled out the moves in 2006 when on international duty. It has remained a much-talked about moment and the Manchester City copied his moves as he opened the scoring against Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon. Crouch first pulled off the robot celebration 19 years ago after scoring for England during a friendly against Hungary - and did so days later in a win over Jamaica. The now-retired star was quick to comment on social media after seeing Haaland copy his celebration, joking that he begun the trend so that other players could follow suit. Crouch would again bring out the celebration when he scored his 100th Premier League goal, which came when he was playing for Stoke. Haaland's brace helped City get back to winning ways and means he's now on 13 Premier League goals for the season. He's been in blistering form and could yet rival the record he set in 2022/23 for the most goals in a single season. The Norwegian claimed he was determined to get the team back to winning ways after their setback last weekend. He told Sky Sports : "Important win. It is good to bounce back after losing a bad away game. It was nice. I tried to contribute for the team by doing my job. "It is good to win. Now two more important games to come, so keep focusing. I didn't score last game. I try to help the team to win. That is my goal and even by scoring or helping in winning duels it doesn't matter. I want to help the team become better, that is my job." Haaland has scored 17 times in all competitions and remains City's go-to man in the final third. Pep Guardiola hauled him off when he was eyeing a hat-trick but admitted his current numbers were similar to those posted by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo . “This is what it’s like if you play with Messi or Ronaldo, his influence is so big," said the City boss. "You see the numbers of that guy? Of course he’s that level. Messi and Ronaldo have done it for 15 years, but this is the level. The first goal, the way he shoots the ball, it’s like ‘I am going to score’. “He has that hunger. It’s top. I said how incredibly coachable and manageable he is. I am tough sometimes with Haaland, but he is open-minded. He lives for the goals and sometimes the pressure cannot sustain 90 minutes, but that’s normal."
