Peru’s economic elite was expecting to hear from the top six presidential contenders on Thursday at an exclusive annual gathering for local executives, where tickets run up to $2,000 a person. Instead four of the candidates canceled on short notice, shunning the country’s business class and refusing to attend the marquee CADE conference.
