Penn State’s James Franklin makes bold White Out prediction on ESPN’S College GameDay

Saturday night’s White Out between No. 3 Penn State and No. 6 Oregon will be the highest-ranked showdown in the annual tradition’s history.
From the 2016 win over Ohio State to the 2019 “Mo Bamba” moment against Michigan, monochromatic mayhem has produced some memorable moments inside Beaver Stadium.
James Franklin thinks the best is yet to come.
While joining ESPN’s College GameDay set, live from Penn State’s Old Main lawn, Franklin was asked what he expected from the White Out environment. And he made a prediction:
“This will be the best environment in the history of college football tonight.”
Franklin answered other questions from the panel of Rece Davis, Pat McAfee, Desmond Howard and Nick Saban, largely reprising the same comments about Oregon he made in his local press conference earlier in the week.
But before he left the brief segment on ESPN’s show, Franklin presented the crew with some gifts. He brought a cake, State College’s iconic “Grilled Stickies” and some ice cream from the famous Berkey Creamery on campus. The group ate the ice cream before the show went to commercial.
Oh yeah, and Saban was wearing a Nittany Lion sweatshirt the whole time — just days after he trolled the White Out for a loss to his Alabama team years ago.
