SIOUX CITY — Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center will be celebrating 30 years of nature education and conservation Oct. 18 with a festive fall day packed with family-friendly activities, delicious treats and hands-on experiences.
From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 18, a trolley shuttle from Sacred Heart Church, 5010 Military Road, will take visitors to the 30th anniversary celebration of the Nature Center, 4500 Sioux River Road, for a series of events, sponsored by Gilchrist Foundation, Saving Our Avian Resources (SOAR) and the Woodbury County Conservation Foundation.
Some of the highlights will include guided nature hikes, Dutch oven cooking demonstrations, pumpkin decorating. a Nerf gun target shooting range and a live Bald Eagle program with SOAR’s Kay Neumann.
