Patrick Dempsey is set to star as the lead in Fox’s new thriller Memory Of A Killer and is revealing all in the first trailer for the Jason Bourne-esque show. Fox has released the first footage for its new psychological series, Memory Of A Killer, which will star Dempsey and Michael Imperioli. The series is inspired by the 2003 Belgian thriller De Zaak Alzheimer (La Mémoire Du Tueur). There is no official release date yet, but it’s expected to air in January 2026. Memory Of A Killer follows Dempsey as hitman Angelo Ledda, who is living a double life while secretly battling early-onset Alzheimer’s. Imperioli stars as Angelo’s oldest friend, who runs a restaurant as a front for criminal activity. The official synopsis is: "Losing your memory is a devastating hammer blow for anyone, but for Angelo Ledda, the stakes couldn’t be higher. His hitman job would be perilous enough, but there’s an added pressure. Angelo lives two totally separate lives – as a fearsome NYC hitman and a sleepy upstate Cooperstown photocopier salesman and father. Having built and maintained a brick wall between his two worlds, Angelo has seamlessly juggled and compartmentalized for years. But now that’s all about to change. Because Alzheimer’s is a foe he can’t outrun, and he knows too well how this ends, as his older brother is already lost to the condition." Richard Harmon is also joining the cast as hitman Joe, Odeya Rush as Angelo’s daughter, Maria, Daniel David Stewart is set to play Maria’s husband, Peter Gadiot is a local police detective named Dave, and Gina Torres will star as FBI Agent Linda Grant. Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment are producing the series. Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone are writing the series and are executive producers alongside Cathy Schulman, Arthur Sarkissian, and Peter Bouckaert. President of Fox Television Network and Entertainment, Michael Thorn, described the series as "a dramatic thriller with a noisy, unrelenting hook that immediately grabbed our attention. Memory of a Killer is anchored by a bold lead with all the makings of another undeniable signature Fox character. In addition to the visceral qualities of the script, it’s one of the most emotionally charged stories I’ve seen in a long time." Memory Of A Killer has been compared to the Jason Bourne franchise, as Bourne has to hide his identity and both of the leads have to live a double life, hiding their true identities from loved ones and the people they are trained to kill. Dempsey is known for his roles in hit movies and shows, including Grey’s Anatomy, Enchanted, and Dexter: Original Sin. He’s also expected to star in the sequel to the 2023 horror Thanksgiving, which is currently in pre-production.
