Sajak’s final episode of Wheel of Fortune aired in June 2024, one year after he announced his retirement from his role as the host of the show, which he helmed for 43 years. Ryan Seacrest has been hosting the game show since September 2024, though Sajak went back for one more spin as the host of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, which aired earlier this year. The beloved TV personality recently quipped about the residuals he makes from his four-plus decades behind the wheel — revealing one common Wheel of Fortune phrase he jokingly claimed to have trademarks. “Even though I’m off the show, I was smart enough to trademark some unique phrases they continue to use, so I still get paid each time they come up,” Sajak posted on X on October 23, writing: “I’ve done especially well this season with, ‘Yes, there are 2 Rs.'”
