K-pop singer Park Bom has reportedly taken legal action against Yang Hyun-suk, the CEO of her former label, YG Entertainment. What grabbed maximum attention was the extremely high amount she allegedly claimed in the lawsuit. A photo of the lawsuit, shared by Park Bom on Instagram, quickly went viral, but it was later removed before any official confirmation. As per the complaint, the former 2NE1 member had accused her past agency of fraud and embezzlement, including failing to pay her album profits and performance fees. However, just a few days after the news circulated online, Park Bom’s current agency, D Nation, released a statement saying that the allegations of unpaid settlements are not accurate. Currently, she has paused all her professional work to focus on her health and recovery. The complainant requests a thorough investigation and appropriate legal punishment. The accused did not properly pay the earnings generated from all activities the complainant participated in, including music releases, performances, broadcasts, advertisements, events, songwriting, and composing.” The total amount, she said, is around 100,200,300,400,600,700,10,000,346,427.2 billion KRW. The agency did not give any details about the payments owed and did not pay her the money she was supposed to receive.
