LAHORE – Punjab Minister for Health and Chairman of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order, Khawaja Salman Rafique, has announced the establishment of special wards in hospitals across Lahore and Faisalabad to facilitate Sikh pilgrims visiting Pakistan for Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary celebrations. The announcement came during a joint meeting chaired by Khawaja Salman Rafique and Punjab’s Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, to review preparations for the upcoming religious festivities. The minister said all arrangements for Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary are being closely monitored under the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He emphasized that people of all faiths hold deep respect for Baba Guru Nanak, and the visit to Nankana Sahib symbolizes solidarity with the Sikh community. Khawaja Salman Rafique reaffirmed that the safety and welfare of Sikh pilgrims remain a top government priority. He instructed all officers and staff on duty to treat the visitors with utmost courtesy. The dedicated hospital wards will ensure high-quality medical care, uninterrupted food, and other essential services for the pilgrims. He also commended the district administration for making excellent arrangements for the celebrations. The 556th birth anniversary celebrations of founder of Sikh religion Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji will begin today (November 3). The main ceremony marking birth anniversary will take place at Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nanaka Sahib on Wednesday.
