India are all set to take on Pakistan in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 21. This will be the second time that the two arch-rivals are taking on each other in the tournament after the Men in Blue defeated their opponents by a margin of 7 wickets. This match was followed by a lot of drama, especially after the Indian players refused to shake hands with the Pakistan team, after which PCB wanted the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft. They have received multiple blows from the ICC, and now they have recieved yet another blow. According to a report by PTI, Andy Pycroft is all set to be the match referee for the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 Super Four Match. This was after PCB filed two complaints to remove the former Zimbabwe cricketer as the referee for not upholding the Spirit of Cricket, and ICC rejected them both times. In fact, the ICC has also reportedly sent a notice to the PCB for breaching rules. However, the reason for this cancellation is not yet known. This is not the first time that Pakistan have canceled a press conference in this Asia Cup 2025. They had done so before and after the match vs UAE, and also after the loss to India. What Happened The Last Time India Faced Pakistan In Asia Cup 2025? Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the Group A clash against India at Dubai on September 14 (Sunday). The Indian bowlers were all over the Pakistani batters, especially the spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy. They could only manage to score 127/9, that too because of some late hitting from Shaheen Afridi. Kuldeep was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 3/18. India never looked in trouble in the run chase of 128. Abhishek Sharma gave the Men in Blue a powerful start with a quickfire 31-run knock. Suryakumar Yadav then put up a half-century stand for the third wicket, with the captain going on to hit a 47-run innings to seal the match for India.
