Live updates as 7A Page (2-1) hosts 5A Southern Guilford (2-2) in the Pirates’ Hall of Fame Game in what is the last scheduled non-conference game of the season for both teams.

Pregame Notes
Page is looking to match last year’s win total (3) and reach 3-1 for the first time since 2017. Southern went 4-6 last year and looks to start 3-2 for the first time since beginning 5-2 in 2022.
The matchup features coaching familiarity as Southern head coach Garrett Mills and Page head coach Caylon Hann were both on Doug Robertson’s Page staff in the fall 2021 season. Mills, making his first appearance at Page since leaving, was Robertson’s co-defensive coordinator while Hann was a defensive assistant in fall 2021. Mills has also faced Hann’s current offensive and defensive coordinators as both were with Andrews when Mills was the head coach at Walkertown prior to taking the Southern job after the 2023 season.
The two teams nearly mirror each other in points per game and points allowed per game, with Southern at 27.75 scored and 23 scored on, while Page is at 27.3 scored and 23.3 scored against.
Southern is 35 of 74 (47.3%) passing for 329 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions and has 140 carries for 706 yards and 10 touchdowns. From a play-operating standpoint, Southern has been 65.4% run and 34.6% pass.
Page’s season statistics weren’t updated for its season opener against Charlotte Country Day on MaxPreps, but in counting its last two games, facing Northwest Guilford and Mount Tabor, the Pirates are 11 of 19 (57.9%) passing for 235 yards, three touchdowns and one interception using a two-quarterback system with Zamari Williamson and Anthony Johnson. On the ground, Page had 83 carries for 515 yards and five touchdowns combined over those games.
In the last two games, Williamson is 2 of 7 for 24 yards and no touchdowns and no interceptions, while Johnson is 9 of 12 for 211 yards, three touchdowns and one interception passing. On the ground, Johnson had 215 yards and two touchdowns rushing on 26 carries to Williamson’s 0 yards and 0 touchdowns five carries.
Storm athlete RJ Scott is the TAAC Six 5A/6A Conference’s second-leading rusher, with 92 carries for 529 yards, just seven yards behind Southeast Guilford’s Caleb Jackson, and six touchdowns. His 92 carries are 65.7% of the team’s carries. He had a career-high 203 rushing yards against Western Guilford on Sept. 5 this season.
Southern won 19-16 over Ragsdale in week one and 51-0 over High Point Central in week four playing with defensive linemen Tony Robinson (nose guard) and Kaleb Lindsay (defensive end). Without them, the team lost 34-14 in week two versus Smith and lost 42-27 in week three versus Western Guilford.
The most recent meeting between the teams came in 2018, with Page winning 45-0. In 2017, Page won 41-0.
