Packers LT believes team can go on historic run in 2025

The Green Bay Packers have looked like legitimate Super Bowl contenders, opening the season with a 27-13 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 1 and a 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 2.
As the Packers prepare to play the 0-2 Cleveland Browns on Sunday, left tackle Rasheed Walker made a bold claim regarding his Green Bay squad.
Rasheed Walker has historic goal in mind for 2025 Packers
“The goal is to keep it going,” Walker said while speaking with reporters at his locker on Wednesday, Sports Illustrated’s Mike Kadlick shared. “Because I think we can go undefeated, honestly.”
The 1972 Miami Dolphins are the only team to complete a perfect season in the NFL’s Super Bowl era. The 2007 New England Patriots went undefeated until they lost to Eli Manning and the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII.
As for the 2025 Packers, acquiring star pass-rusher Micah Parsons from theDallas Cowboys seemingly turned their defense into a championship-caliber unit. Per ESPN stats, Green Bay enters Week 3 of the campaign ranked third in the NFL with an average of 238 yards surrendered per game and fourth with an average of 15.5 opponent points scored per contest.
Meanwhile, Pro Football Reference stats show that Packers quarterback Jordan Love began Thursday leading the league with an average of 13.7 yards gained per pass completion. He was also eighth among qualified players with a 78.2 adjusted QBR and fourth with a 120.0 passer rating.
Are the Packers the team to beat in the NFL?
“I mean, personally, I feel like — I always tell people I felt like we could have went undefeated the past two seasons,” Walker added during his comments. “Like, we lost a lot of the games off a couple plays, but I feel like our offense has been playing so good and so disciplined, and our defense has been playing even better, and special teams has been playing great … pound for pound, I look at these teams and I don’t see who is better than us, honestly. That’s why I can say that so confidently.”
As of Thursday afternoon, ESPN BET had the Packers as 7.5-point road favorites against Cleveland. It remains to be seen if Walker’s words will serve as bulletin-board material for the Browns, who are still searching for their first win of the season.
