Pablo Schreiber (Motor City), Zoë Chao (The Roses), Jamie Neumann (The Deuce) and Antonella Rose (A Sudden Case of Christmas) have been cast alongside lead Alison Brie in FX‘s Untitled Witness Protection pilot, from writers, executive producers and showrunners Hannah Fidell and Gina Welch (Clipped).
The project, from FX Productions, is a contemporary take on a previously unproduced script by David Chase, who was previously attached.
In the Untitled Witness Protection pilot, a violent confrontation drives a high-end D.C. madam, Remy (Brie), to turn on her partner and enter witness protection in seaside Maine with her adolescent daughter.
Schreiber will play a gun store owner who helps Remy. Rose will play Remy’s daughter Liv. Chao plays the mom of one of Liv’s friends. Neumann plays an escort in Remy’s new town.
Fidell and Welch are writers, executive producers and showrunners; Fidell will also direct the pilot. Nicole Lambert executive produces for Riverain Pictures.
Emmy-nominated for his role as George “Pornstache” Mendez in Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, Schreiber can most recently be seen in crime drama Motor City, which premiered this year at Venice and TIFF, opposite Alan Ritchson, Ben Foster and Shailene Woodley. He’ll next be seen in The Savant opposite Jessica Chastain for Apple TV+ and His & Hers opposite Tessa Thompson for Netflix. He is repped by Gersh and Circle Management + Production.
Chao can be seen in Jay Roach’s The Roses, alongside Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch and Andy Samberg. She was recently seen in Peacock’s If You Were the Last and in Aline Brosh McKenna’s Your Place or Mine for Netflix. On TV, she starred in the third installment of Party Down for Starz, as well as Apple TV+’s The Afterparty. She also voices Nina Mazursky in James Gunn’s Creature Commandos. Chao is repped by CAA, Mosaic and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.
Neumann is known for her portrayal of Dorothy Spina/Ashley, a sex worker-turned-activist in HBO’s The Deuce. She has recurred on USA’s The Sinner, AMC’s NOS4A2, as well as Netflix’s Jessica Jones opposite Krysten Ritter. On the film side, she can be seen in indie Killing Faith and will next be seen starring in the indie Brenda alongside Heather Burns. She’s repped by Independent Artist Group and MGMT. Entertainment.
Rose’s credits include the roles of Claire in A Sudden Case of Christmas, Christina Gore in Candy, Tracy Otto in Fear the Walking Dead and Gabbie in the horror film Terrifier 3. Rose is repped by Paradigm and TalentWorks.
