P Diddy nervously waiting to find out if he'll spend second 'nightmare' Christmas in jail

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is said to be nervously awaiting news on whether he’ll be spending a second Christmas locked up. The 55-year-old rapper and producer is due to be sentenced on 3 October in Manhattan following his conviction on two charges of orchestrating interstate travel for individuals involved in prostitution, with his legal representatives now reportedly pushing a federal judge to free him ahead of the festive period as his sentencing draws near, according to the Daily Mirror. The allegations against Combs , filed under the Mann Act, could result in a maximum 20-year prison term. He was cleared in July of more severe racketeering and sex trafficking charges after an eight-week court case. Whether he’ll be celebrating the Christmas period at home with his seven youngsters or staying behind bars has become the focal point of discussions before Judge Arun Subramanian, the Mirror reports. Last December, Combs marked Christmas at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center, where he’s been detained since his September 2024 arrest. A source revealed to the Daily Mail: “Spending the holidays behind bars was a nightmare for him.” Another person close to Combs mentioned he remained resilient despite being separated from his loved ones. His 2024 festive period in prison was a stark contrast to his previous years of opulence. Combs’ prison morning meal was dished up at 6am and featured fruit, cereal, breakfast cake and skimmed milk. The midday meal allegedly provided an option between baked Cornish hen or barbecue tofu accompanied by macaroni cheese, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and pudding. The evening meal comprised peanut butter and jam sandwiches, crisps, fruit and a beverage. In stark contrast, during 2023 Combs shared images of a Christmas celebration at his residence with relatives. The previous year, he posted his inaugural festive photograph featuring his youngest daughter, Love, who was born in October 2022. Combs has previously thrown New Year’s Eve gatherings in bygone years, typically characterised by extravagant travel and opulent festivities. During last week’s court proceedings, defence barrister Alexandra Shapiro urged Judge Subramanian to dismiss the Mann Act convictions. She declared: “The whole history of the statute is really, I would submit, an embarrassment to the United States of America.” The solicitor contended the legislation possessed “racist and sexist origins” that were “well documented and beyond dispute”. Prosecutors have yet to submit their sentencing proposal but are anticipated to seek several years behind bars. Defence barristers have requested no more than 14 months, which with good conduct would result in Combs’ immediate freedom. Judge Subramanian has rejected bail twice since July, referencing Combs’ track record of violence, and has suggested he is inclined towards a considerable sentence.
