In a viral TikTok video, a cat owner tries to speak to her feline in his own language, and his reaction has the internet in stitches. The hilarious clip shared earlier in September by @itssjennykz, shows the gray cat named Cosmo sitting on his owner’s lap as she tries to have a meaningful conversation with him.The poster starts by making some chirping noises, which the cat replicates. She then makes some short high-pitched sounds, which the kitty also seems to answer to.”Attempting to speak cat language to my cat,” reads the caption, as the cat appears to slow blink at the camera, a sign that he is enjoying the heart-warming interaction with his owner.Experts suggest that slow blinking is how cats express their trust and affection, and it’s not something they do with everyone. In nature, closing their eyes in front of another animal makes them vulnerable, and by slow blinking at you, your kitty is showing you that they feel safe and can relax in your company. When this happens, you can slow blink back at them by gently closing and opening your eyes in a relaxed way, taking to them in a soothing tone if you want to make it an even more enjoyable experience for them.Other signs that your cat is content and relaxed with you include kneading, and head rubbing and bunting. These behaviors could also be seen as displays of affection and marking territory, by leaving their scent on their humans as a way of claiming ownership. The video quickly went viral on social media and had received over 113,100 views and 14,100 likes on the platform at the time of writing. One user, SHARMILA, commented: “Girl, she’s telling you ‘repeat after me’ she’s [trying to] help you but you’re out here swimming [with] dolphins.”Another user, Heather Feather, said: “Look I get it. I have four cats and talk to them constantly. best entertainment. best friends. best everything. love these videos and love your friendship.”Miss Lisqo added: “He’s like ‘pronunciation is a bit off but you’re doing well my protege.”Newsweek reached out to @itssjennykz for comment via email.
