Owner Drops Off Dog at Boarding Kennel—Nobody Prepared for What He Brings

When staff at a dog boarding facility told one owner to bring “whatever makes your pup comfy away from home,” they probably didn’t expect a piece of furniture. In a viral TikTok shared by user @rejumadnil, a small dog can be seen calmly lounging on what appears to be an entire couch cushion placed neatly inside its kennel. The text overlay said: “Me to owners: oh yeah bring whatever so your pup is comfy away from home! Owners:” The clip, that can be viewed here, has been viewed thousands of times, quickly captured viewers’ hearts—and laughs. The TikToker, who works at a doggy daycare, added in the caption: “Couch cushion is def one of the craziest things I’ve seen a boarder bring.” @rejumadnil couch cushion is def one of the craziest things ive seen a boarder bring😆 #dogdaycare ♬ оригінальний звук – Libriolla As a pet care professional, @rejumadnil often posts behind-the-scenes videos showing daily life in a dog daycare, from dinner routines to the many creative ways owners try to make their pets feel at home. Daycare is a popular option for lots of pet owners, and according to Cognitive Market Research’s Pet Daycare and Lodging Market Report 2025 the industry is set to grow by 7.5 percent between 2023 and 2030. Demand is being driven by busy lifestyles, rising disposable incomes, and the increasing trend of treating pets—especially dogs—as family members who require specialized care when their owners are away. For the dog with the couch cushion, his slice of luxury resonated with viewers and quickly gained viral attention on TikTok, and has now been viewed more than 12 million times. In the comments, people couldn’t get enough of the hilarious moment, while some fellow pet carers shared similar stories. “That is very smart actually,” said viewer Jess. “Makes sense. It’s like he knows they are coming back because they are missing a piece of the couch,” said Rassah. “My dog goes to daycare with my Beyoncé Renaissance tour T-shirt,” said another viewer. While fellow pet boarding worker Gracye wrote: “Someone brought a lawn chair and she slept in it every night.” Another boarding worker, Channy, shared: “[We] had a person bring in an iPod and ask if we could turn on the music for her bulldog occasionally. Keep in mind, this bulldog was already in the highest level of “suite” we offered that had personal AC and heating units and a TV.” A picture from the viral video of the dog sitting on the couch cushion. “I had someone bring a laundry basket and said their dog liked to sleep in it… He in fact slept in it,” said viewer Amanda. Elsewhere online, not all pets are worried about going to boarding kennels. In fact, one dog in Ireland made his feelings clear when his owners returned from vacation and he didn’t want to leave. While other heartwarming footage has melted hearts as dogs react to their first ever comfortable bed. Like Auggie, who was found wandering along in a park and later melted hearts as people watched her get her first new dog bed. While another rescue dog named Lunch Box melted hearts as he was filmed “discovering comfort” as he got to sit on a couch for the first time ever.
