Overwatch 2 Shows Off Upcoming Persona Collaboration

Overwatch 2 and Persona 5 come together for a new collaboration, and we got our first look.

The free-to-play Overwatch 2, created by Blizzard Entertainment, continues to grow with new Heroes and updates. Meanwhile, Atlus’ Persona series has enthused JRPG fans for years, becoming a household name thanks to Persona 5. A collaboration between the two series was teased earlier this summer. However, we now know when we’ll be able to play it and what it’ll look like.

Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 Collaboration Brings New Costumes for Heroes

According to a tweet from the official Overwatch account, the Overwatch and Persona 5 collaboration releases tomorrow, September 16th. The artwork in the post is done by Persona series artist Shigenori Soejima, whose recent work on Metaphor: ReFantazio won Best Art Direction at The 2025 Game Awards. As for what the collaboration entails, it looks like it will be costumes for certain Heroes. The Heroes in question, as well as who they’ll be able to dress as, are below:

Wuyang – Joker/Ren Amamiya

Mercy – Panther/Ann Takamaki

Genji – Skull/Ryuji Sakamoto

Lifeweaver – Fox/Yusuke Kitagawa

D.Va – Queen/Makoto Niijima

The costumes look almost identical to those seen in Persona 5. While certain characters like Lifeweaver and Mercy still have some of their original designs, Wuyang, D.Va, and Gengi look completely different. Wuyang, whose costume is Persona 5’s Joker, is Overwatch 2’s newest Hero. As a support-based character, Wuyang wields powerful water magic on the battlefield. It’s a great choice for the character and one fans are sure to enjoy. Hopefully, the many collabs will help make the reveal of Persona 6 much sweeter.
