Over 100 youth receive vocational training in Ghazni

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The Department of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs in southern Ghazni province says more than 100 young people have graduated from a vocational training programme. At a graduation ceremony, the department’s director, Mullah Abdul Hakim Danish, said the participants had received both theoretical and practical training in tailoring, mobile phone repair, and poultry farming. He said the training programme had been implemented by the Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) organisation. Danish added that the graduates would now be able to use their newly acquired skills to find employment and generate income for their families. Meanwhile, HHRD’s provincial head, Shakirullah Amin, said the six-month programme had cost about 6.5 million afghanis, covering training, equipment and materials. The graduates expressed satisfaction with completing the course, saying such vocational programmes play an important role in reducing unemployment and promoting self-reliance. Mohammad Waris, a graduate of the mobile repair course, said: “I learned both the theoretical and practical aspects of mobile phone repair. Now I will try to start my own business.” Several other graduates also called for similar training programmes to be extended to remote areas so that more unemployed youth could acquire vocational skills. Hundreds of young people have previously benefited from similar vocational training initiatives implemented by various charitable organisations in the province.
