NORMAN — Oklahoma football climbed four spots from No. 11 to No. 7 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Sunday.
The Sooners’ surge comes on the heels of a 24-17 win over Auburn on Saturday night. OU’s new ranking marks its first time inside the Top 10 nationally since the 2023 season.
The other Southeastern Conference teams in the latest Top 25 are No. 5 LSU, No. 5 Georgia, No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 10 Texas, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 17 Alabama, No. 18 Vanderbilt and No. 20 Missouri. OU is still to play all of those teams except Georgia and A&M.
The Sooners now head into a bye week before returning to action at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 versus Kent State.
