Osun community seeks FG, state govt’s intervention for infrastructural development

Residents of Inisa community in the Odo-Otin local government area of Osun State over the weekend appealed to both the federal and state governments to concentrate on the development of the town. The community members who complained that, government impacts are not felt in the town said, “most of the infrastructures in the town were financed through contributions by the community. They made the appeal at the 34th Inisa Day celebration and disclosed that, the unity in the community has brought a lot of development through personal efforts. Speaking with newsmen, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, and the former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, argued that, “This community is not only growing but developing. We’ve not been seeing the impact government in terms of development in this place, but we have that spirit of togetherness, and we’ve been doing things by ourselves. “ The APC Chieftain however charged the government to give adequate attention to the development of the place. “Particularly, we want tertiary institutions in Inisa. We are therefore seeking government support at the federal and state levels to complement what we are doing. We need federal impact in this place,” Oyedokun added. Speaking in the same vein, former UniOsun Vice Chancellor, Labo Popoola said, the Inisa Day celebration kept getting better, urging Inisa sons and daughters in the diaspora to ensure they give back to the community. Popoola added: “This is the 34th Inisa Day celebration, and it keeps on getting better every year. The mobilisation this year is so much. I just want to appeal to Inisa sons and daughters in diaspora to ensure that they are counted in the march to the development of Inisa town.” In his remarks, the chairman of, Inisa Descendants’ Union, Professor Olatunde Babawale, said the celebration was to showcase the rich culture of the town. Prof. Babawale applauded Inisa indigenes and residents for their support and contributions, promising that the union will continue to work towards the development of the town. “Inisa Day celebration is to showcase our rich culture, and I am sure people will gain a lot of things here today. I want to appreciate our people for their support and I promise that we will not disappoint you. We will always ensure that the development of Inisa town is our topmost priority.” The event witnessed the presence of several personalities, including monarchs, politicians, and business moguls who donated funds for the development of the town.
