The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has issued a strong directive to all licensed insolvency practitioners to renew their licenses by November 28, 2025, or risk losing the right to operate. The directive, issued in accordance with Sections 153(3)(a) and 161(1) of the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act, 2020 (Act 1015), forms part of efforts to strengthen regulatory oversight and ensure compliance within Ghana’s insolvency and restructuring sector. In a statement signed by Jones Nathaniel Ansah, Head of the Insolvency and Liquidation Services Directorate, the ORC emphasized that maintaining a valid license is a mandatory requirement for continued professional practice. Failure to meet the deadline, the statement warned, could result in revocation of licenses. The Registrar urged all insolvency practitioners who have not yet completed their renewal process to do so immediately at any ORC office nationwide. According to the statement, the directive is essential to upholding professional standards, enhancing public confidence, and supporting ongoing efforts to strengthen corporate governance and business recovery systems in Ghana. “A valid license is essential for practitioners to remain in good regulatory standing and to lawfully offer insolvency and restructuring services. The ORC therefore urges all licensed Insolvency Practitioners who have not completed the renewal process to do so,” the statement read.
