OpenAI, the maker of ChatGPT, has announced a new hiring drive for the role of Solutions Architect, Startups in Bengaluru, according to a post on the company’s social media. Kenneth Ang, Talent Partner at OpenAI, shared the update on LinkedIn, noting that similar positions are also open in Seoul. In the post, Ang wrote, “We’re looking for Solutions Architects for Startups to help empower the next generation of founders building with AI. You’ll partner closely with startups, helping them go from idea to prototype to scale using frontier models and infrastructure.” The selected candidate will serve as a key link between OpenAI’s technology and start-up founders—helping them integrate AI into real-world products and shape emerging markets. The hiring move follows OpenAI’s broader plan to establish a local presence in India. In August, the company confirmed it would open its first India office in New Delhi later this year, marking a significant step in expanding its footprint in one of its fastest-growing user markets. India is currently ChatGPT’s second-largest market by users, after the US. Sam Altman, Chief Executive Officer of OpenAI, had stated, “India has all the ingredients to become a global AI leader—amazing tech talent, a world-class developer ecosystem, and strong government support through the IndiaAI Mission. Opening our first office and building a local team is an important first step in our commitment to make advanced AI more accessible across the country and to build AI for India, and with India.” Adding to its India-focused momentum, OpenAI on Tuesday announced that it will make ChatGPT Go available free for one full year to all Indian users who sign up during a limited-time promotional period starting November 4. ChatGPT Go, first launched in India in August, was developed in response to user feedback seeking more affordable access to advanced ChatGPT features. Within a month of launch, the number of paid ChatGPT subscribers in India more than doubled. Riding on this strong uptake, OpenAI has since expanded ChatGPT Go to nearly 90 markets worldwide.
