It would appear that ChatGPT will be making it easier for users with PayPal accounts to buy and sell products and services through the platform. PayPal and OpenAI have announced the signing of a deal which will see users able to link their PayPal wallets up to ChatGPT. The link-up and benefits from it are expected to come into play in early 2026. PayPal posted word of the deal with OpenAI in a press release on its newsroom website this week. There, PayPal announced it will adopt “Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP)” to link its payment and commerce system to ChatGPT. For merchants utilizing ChatGPT to sell services or goods, PayPal will also connect its merchant network, allowing small businesses and brands to carry out transactional business directly in the platform.
