In the witty finale of Only Murders in the Building Season 5, another killer is unravelled thanks to the eccentric yet effective Arconia trio: Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez)! While they initially suspected one of the billionaires — Camila (Renee Zellweger), Bash (Christoph Waltz), and Jay (Logan Lerman) — to be their beloved late doorman Lester's (Teddy Coluca) killer, a curveball is thrown at them and the viewers, before revealing who the actual murderer is... Just a few hours away from Arconia's demolition — orchestrated by Camila to make New York's first casino, The Camila Club — Charles, Oliver and Mabel confront the billionaires at Nicky's underground den. To their chagrin, their fingers are all intact. In a surprising twist, Mabel solves Lester's clue and reveals Lester's killer to be Mayor Beau Tillman (Keegan-Michael Key), who had a fake finger. Beau reveals what truly happened the night of Nicky and Lester's murders: When Nicky finds out that Sofia's secret lover is Beau, he angrily attacks the mayor, who was in cahoots with the billionaires, by chopping off his finger. The violent encounter resulted in Lester accidentally killing Nicky and running away with Beau's finger. In order to protect his reputation, Beau kills Lester. However, Beau calls backup, and the corrupt police officers lock the trio in the casino room to perish alongside Arconia. Thanks to Howard (Michael Cyril Creighton) and Althea aka Thē's (Beanie Feldstein) help, the trio escapes and reveals to the press that they had secretly recorded Beau's confession. Beau is arrested while Jay has a change of heart and admits to Mabel and the police that the billionaire trio had co-conspired with Beau to cover up Nicky's murder. The billionaires are arrested, and Arconia is saved! Who dies in Only Murders in the Building Season 6? In a time lapse of three months, it's revealed that Sofia and Lester's wife, Lorraine (Dianne Wiest), has started a new chapter in their lives from the money they inherited. On the other hand, the Arconia trio are in pursuit of new material for their podcast. They jointly listen to true crime-solving legend Cinda Canning's (Tina Fey) new podcast, and her latest murder to solve is a royal descendant from the UK. Cinda firmly believes that the prime suspect, a woman, is innocent and wants to protect her by whisking her off to the US. However, to Charles, Oliver and Mabel's utter surprise, they find Cindy dying right in front of them near Arconia's gates. Also confirmed by the makers, Only Murders in the Building Season 6 will see the Arconia trio step outside their beloved building and fly across to the UK to solve Cinda's last case as well as her own murder. Is Only Murders in the Building Season 5 worth watching? Only Murders in the Building fans will agree, the murder mystery show ages like fine wine with every new season. And Season 5 is no exception. The central murder storyline remains minty fresh, but never gets too serious, while the wittiness of the script guarantees a breezy binge session. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez's on-screen chemistry is delightful to watch, yet, it's Teddy Coluca's Lester who comes out as the scene-stealing character.
