One of the largest private companies in Pennsylvania has installed a new five-acre solar park at its headquarters. Lower Paxton Township-based technology distributor D&H Distributing said the new solar park with 3,888 modules will offset the company’s energy use with clean, renewable energy. “At D&H, we continually undertake measures that cement our dedication to reducing energy consumption,” Dan Schwab, D&H co-president, said in a news release. “Over the last 15 years, we have ordered nearly 150 million green products, enabling the long-term success of our partners and the sustainability of our environment. By launching our new solar park, we continue to deliver on our pledge to go green – today, tomorrow, and for future generations to come.” The solar park is within the walking track at D&H’s corporate headquarters. “This solar park is among the larger community-scale systems in the region, designed to deliver clean, renewable energy directly to the D&H facilities,” William Hines, project manager at Coral Reef Partners, said in the news release. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Oct. 21 to mark the installation of the new solar park. The 107-year-old company moved to the two-building, 50-acre campus located at 100 and 200 Tech Drive back in 2019. Prior to the move, D&H’s longtime headquarters was on Seventh Street in Harrisburg. At its previous headquarters, D&H also had a five-acre solar park. That solar park had 3,542 solar panels and was built in 2012. It was placed behind a green fence next to the headquarters.
