Britain’s King Charles hosted U.S. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania for a state banquet at Windsor Castle on Wednesday (September 17) evening. Trump is on his historic second state visit to Britain and was welcomed at the grounds of the castle by Charles earlier in the day with a full array of pageantry, including a procession, military parade and flypast. The U.S. presidential couple and other banquet guests were treated to a menu with a starter of watercress panna cotta, followed by chicken ballotines wrapped in courgettes and a vanilla ice cream bombe for dessert. “We’re joined by history and fate, by love and language, and by transcendent ties of culture, tradition, ancestry, and destiny. The bond of kinship and identity between America and the United Kingdom is priceless and eternal — it’s irreplaceable and unbreakable,” Trump said.
