Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik are headed off on a roadtrip in a Netflix docu-series, Deadline can confirm.
The former One Direction singers have already started filming on the show, in which they travel across the U.S. and are expected to discuss the tragic death of their bandmate Liam Payne.
Nicola Marsh is directing the show. She is known for the likes of Child Star and Stay on Board: The Leo Baker Story. Campfire Studios, maker of docs such as Smartless: On the Road, is producing ahead of what’s expected to be a 2026 launch. Campfire’s Ross Dinerstein and Rebecca Evans will executive produce
One Direction started as a boy band on The X Factor in the UK 15 years ago, and were signed later signed by Simon Cowell. They became among the best selling boy-bands ever, and grew a huge fanbase, which still remains today despite splitting in 2016. That was a year after Malik had decided to leave the group.
Harry Styles and Niall Horan, the other former members of the band, are not expected to appear in the Netflix series.
Payne died in 2024 after falling from a hotel room window in Buenos Aires, Argentina, aged 31. HIs funeral brought all the remaining One Direction stars together for the first time since the bad split.
Malik has lived in the U.S. since 2018 and currently resides in Pennsylvania, while spends a significant amount of time the States. The Sun was first with the news of their new doc.
