… honoured as distinguished personalities alongside others at Lagelu FM at 10 A member of the National Assembly representative Ido/Ibarapa East Federal constituency, Hon.Remi Oseni, has assured of the commitment of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, to set a new developmental agenda for Ibadanland. He stated that this would attract both local and foreign investors, as well as create employment opportunities for the teeming youths. Tribune Online recalls that Oba Ladoja recently inaugurated the economic team to fast-track the economic growth of the town as well as create employment opportunities for the youths. Oseni, in a sideline interview after being honoured alongside others as distinguished personalities at the 10th anniversary of an Ibadan-based radio station, Lagelu FM, at the weekend, said with the inauguration of the economic teams, most of the moribund companies would receive a breath of life. He said the inauguration of the various committees has further shown the leadership qualities of the Olubadan. “Ibadan will experience all-round growth during the reign of Oba Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland. “Kabiyesi is a man of many parts: a seasoned administrator, entrepreneur and politician. With his vast experience in relevant fields, it is no gainsaying that the ancient town will experience an all-around development. “The newly inaugurated Olubadan economic team is a testament to this,” he said. On his award, he lauded the contribution of the Lagelu FM station for its contribution to the media industry as well as the development of Oyo State and Nigeria in general. He said, “It takes the wisdom of visionary leadership to pilot the affairs of a radio station in the past ten years, still counting, in the face of daunting economic challenges. “Lagelu FM station has weathered many storms and is still waxing stronger. I give kudos to the entire management team.” In his address, the Proprietor of the West Midlands Communication, Oba Murtala Adebayo Akande, disclosed that the station was established ten years ago to give a voice to the people of Ibadan. According to him, Lagelu FM has become more than a frequency on the dial; it has become a movement, a bridge between generations, and a beacon of authentic Yoruba expression in broadcasting. Speaking in the same vein, the MD/CEO of the organisation, Mrs Atinuke Adetunji, submitted that the station has proven that when purpose meets passion, even the airwaves can become an instrument of transformation. “At West Midlands Communication, we have always believed that broadcasting is not merely about sound; it is about substance,” he said. Also, in his address, the General Manager of Operations, Mr. Tunde Olawuwo, said the station has been able to bridge the gap between sophistication and culture, between modern broadcasting and the soul of the community.
