As over 400 professionals in the Human Resource under the banner Institute of People Management Malawi are gearing up for their conference in Mangochi to discuss emerging trends and reflect on the future of the association, Old Mutual Malawi has moved in to sponsor the conference with MK5 million.
This year’s conference will be held under the theme; “HR Re-Imaged: Shaping the Future of Work” and it will be held from 23 to 25 October 2025.
Speaking to the press after handing over the Cheque General Manager Linda Phoya of Mthunzi Funeral Services Limited, a subsidiary of Old Mutual Malawi said the company recognizes the crucial role that IPMM plays hence the donation.
“IPMM’s theme for this year; “HR Re-imaged: Shaping the Future of Work” is speaking to at the times we are living in, where things continue to change, therefore, it is imperative to re-image how we manage, develop, and empower our people.in our business we see daily how critical it is to have strong, adaptable teams that can serve families with compassion and excellence. IPMM helps organisations like ours achieve that.
“IPMM has always been a key partner and have always provided our support when you have called. I would want to, therefore, pledge our commitment to continue rendering support to this professional body,” said Phoya.
She added: “The lake conference is more than just a meeting of minds. It is also a space where is gives people a moment to refresh and reconnect in an informal setting, a break from the rush of day-to-day work. Arm glad to say that some of our staff members will attend the conference, and we are sure that the networking will enrich their personal and professional growth.”
IPMM Executive Director Willy Nkhoma hailed Old Mutual for the timely donation and he urged other institutions to follow suit.
This year’s conference will feature the HR Excellence Awards, a premier recognition platform designed to celebrate outstanding achievements, innovation and leadership in Malawi’s HR profession.
