Ola Electric has crossed a major production milestone with its one-millionth electric vehicle rolling out of the Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The company, which began manufacturing in 2021, is the first electric vehicle manufacturer in India to achieve this mark in under four years. Ola Electric currently holds an 18 percent share of the electric two-wheeler segment, a sharp drop from its 51 percent peak in May 2024. The decline in sales can be attributed to stronger competition from TVS, Bajaj, and other established manufacturers offering more reliable products and improved aftersales support. To mark the occasion, Ola Electric introduced a limited-run version of its Roadster X+. Finished in midnight blue with red accents on the seats, rims and battery pack, the model also carries special badges made from recycled copper waste. The company said the milestone reflected “the trust of every Indian who believed in our mission,” calling the achievement proof of its rise as a leader in the domestic electric two-wheeler market. Ola Electric has also announced plans to introduce new electric scooters and upgrade its battery technology. The firm recently revealed its proprietary 4680 battery cells, which will be deployed across models such as the S1 Pro+ and Roadster X+.
