COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio High School Athletic Association issued a response Tuesday afternoon to Franklin County judge’s ruling the previous day that granted a temporary restraining order, allowing high school athletes in the state to receive money through Name, Image and Likeness. With that ruling by Judge Jaiza Page, there is a 45-day window until Dec. 15 in which NIL is permitted in Ohio regardless of any decision made by the OHSAA. The state’s governing body for high school sports plans to conduct an emergency referendum vote regarding NIL within the 45-day window. The OHSAA Board of Directors will meet Thursday to determine the voting dates. Each member school has one vote, cast by principals.
