On November 1, during an extraordinary session of the City Council of People’s Deputies in Ohangaron, the city mayor was dismissed from his position, according to the Tashkent regional administration. It was reported that regional mayor Zoyir Mirzayev delivered a critical and analytical speech on the implementation of socio-economic development goals and tasks over the past two years. Following the discussion, the organizational matter was reviewed, and Muzaffar Erkaboyevich Rajabboev was relieved of his duties as hokim of Ohangaron city due to shortcomings and mistakes in his work. He had been appointed to this position on February 26, 2024. Zoyir Mirzayev proposed the candidacy of Sadriddin Shokosimov, who had been serving as deputy mayor of Ohangaron district for construction, accessible environment creation, communications development, ecology, and landscaping issues. The City Council of People’s Deputies approved his appointment as the new hokim of Ohangaron. For reference, Muzaffar Rajabboev was born in 1984 in Parkent district. He holds a higher education degree and graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration in 2007, the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan in 2014, and earned a master’s degree from the University of International Business and Economics in China in 2019. He began his career at the Kibray district Fire Safety Service and later held responsible positions in the Yukori Chirchik and Parkent district administrations. Before becoming mayor, he worked as head of a department at the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan. As a reminder, new mayors were recently appointed for the Karmana district of Navoi region and the city of Khanabad in Andijan region.
