They advanced to the finals after a strong win over their teammate Deep Ranjan Bisoyee (India) and Manoj Sarkar (India) 21-19 and 21-16. They defeated the indian pair of Suryakant Yadav (India) and Umesh Vikram Kumar (India) 21- 9, 19-21 and 21-18 in the finals to win Gold medal.
