Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police has decided to deploy an anti-drone system at Puri Srimandir to enhance security and prevent unauthorised drones flying over the 12th century shrine.
The decision to deploy anti-drone system was taken during an important meeting held under the chairmanship of Central Range DIG Dr. Satyajit Naik.
According to reports, the Superintendents of Police (SPs) of seven different districts coming under the Central Range took part in the meeting and decided to strengthen law and order especially during the upcoming festive period.
This anti-drone technology with the capacity of neutralising high-frequency drone signals, rendering any drone within its range inoperative will cover the Puri Srimandir and its surrounding areas.
It is to be noted here that several illegal drones were seen flying over the no-flying zones in Puri city posing threat for the Lord Jagannath temple.
